Buckingham Palace has announced a key milestone in King Charles' reign as His Majesty presented new Colours to the Coldstream Guards at Windsor Castle, marking the regiments 375th anniversary.
In a ceremony rich with tradition, the King, as Colonel-in-Chief, officially handed over the freshly consecrated ceremonial flags-known as Colours-to the 1st and 2nd Battalions(Number 7 Company).
The event also sets the stage for tomorrow's Trooping the Colour at the King's Birthday Parade, where one of the new Colours will be proudly displayed.
The King received a Royal Salute to the strains of the National Anthem performed by the Band of the Coldstream Guards.
The Royal Family's official Instagram page also shared highlights from the event.
'Ahead of Trooping the Colour tomorrow, The King, as Colonel-in-Chief, has presented New Colours to the Coldstream Guards at Windsor Castle. During the parade, His Majesty was invited to inspect troops and the New Colours were presented to the King, who touched them in acknowledgment.'
Following the presentation, His Majesty addressed the gathered soldiers from the dais, commending the Coldstream Guards for their dedication and exemplary service over nearly four centuries.
