Queen Elizabeth's stern warning to Harry over Meghan's demands

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding may have appeared like a picture-perfect affair, but royal authors claim that there was a significant behind-the scenes tension leading up to the big day.

According to royal biographer Tiny Brown in her bestselling book The Palace Papers the preparations were chaotic.

She described the lead-up as a 's*** show,' citing palace insiders revealed that royal staff were overwhelmed by the Sussexes' constant demands. 

Two major issues reportedly dominated the tension: Meghan's tiara and the bridesmaid dresses. 

Meghan is said to have clashed with Angela Kelly, the late Queen Elizabeth's personal advisor and dresser, over access to the tiara selected for the wedding.

Royal author Tom Bower detailed how Meghan's request to take the tiara out of storage for her hairdresser's trial was denied.

According to The Times, the late Queen intervened after a disagreement, allegedly telling Harry,' Meghan cannot have have whatever she wants. She gets the tiara she's given by me.'

During wedding rehearsals, Harry reportedly became frustrated with Kelly again and told her,' What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.'

There was allegedly another private meeting between Harry and the Queen following this dispute.

According to royal commentator Seward, Lady Elizabeth Anson-  the Queen's cousin and close confidante-revealed that the monarch was upset with Harry's 'high-handed attitude' before and after the wedding,' likely in reference to the tiara fiasco. 

Additionally, tensions were said to have erupted between Meghan and her soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress fitting.
