Micheal Cera opened up about his first-ever clumsy encounter with the veteran actor Jackie Chan.
Cera, who for the first time is starring in a Wes Anderson movie The Phoenician Scheme, has been spending the last few weeks doing its global press tour.
Chan is also on his own promotional tours for his upcoming film Karate Kid: Legends.
Since both the films share the same release date, May 30, found themselves at the same press stop, BBC Radio 2.
In an interview with NME, Cera recalled meeting Chan saying that he had no idea who he was.
"[A photographer] asked if I knew Jackie Chan, which I don’t, so she said ‘come meet him," he told the outlet.
"That was that. When I met him though, he was like ‘Who is this person? What’s going on?’ We took a picture but I think he thought I was a competition winner," he said.
The Superbad star went on to the share the awkward meet and greet, adding, "He was like, 'Ok, let’s do a picture real quick. Come on.' Not rudely. But I felt like I was invading his little personal time with his team before he goes on the radio."
He continued, "I was like, 'What am I doing here?' But everyone was very sweet and I got to meet Jackie."
In Karate Kid: Legend, Chan reprises his role as Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio returns as Daniel LaRusso. The story revolves around a Kung Fu prodigy Li Fong, who after moving to New York City, struggles to fit in.
When a friend needs help, he enters a karate competition. Guided by Mr Han and Daniel LaRusso, Li learns to blend Kung fu and karate for decisive showdown.
Meanwhile, The Phoenician Scheme follows the story of a merciless man so desperate for his devout daughter's love that he's willing to kill for it.
