Ed Sheeran recalls ‘nostalgic’ moments with Taylor Swift
Ed Sheeran reflects on years long friendship with Taylor Swift and how pair cater to bond
Ed Sheeran is proving that even when life gets wildly busy with global tours, chart-topping singles, and the occasional courtroom appearance, there’s always room for a good, old-fashioned friendship—especially when it comes to Taylor Swift.
Over a decade after their musical (and personal) bond began in 2012, Sheeran is giving fans a peek into the heartwarming history he shares with Swift.
During his appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Shape of You singer got candid when asked about his favorite memory with the pop superstar.
Sheeran looked back fondly on the time he opened for Swift on her Red Tour—a major moment not only in their careers but also in their friendship.
“I lived in Nashville and she lived in Nashville and we used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of, I don't know,” Sheeran said.
“I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time and I do, you know, I see her when I see her."
Apparently, all those throwback memories were stirred up while digging through old voice notes and texts for a court case—most likely referencing his 2023 copyright trial over Thinking Out Loud, in which he was found not liable.
But instead of legal drama, it sparked warm reflections of those Red-era days, including their sweet duet, Everything Has Changed.
Of course, life has changed a bit since 2013.
These days, Sheeran admits he and Swift don’t cross paths as often, but when they do, they make it count.
“I probably see her like four times a year and we do what I said — like instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catchups and I think that's a really nice way to do it,” he said.
