Tom Cruise proves that he does his own stunts in NEW Mission: Impossible 8 pic
Director Christopher McQuarrie, Tom discuss the deadly scene
Action star Tom Cruise, who is famous for playing all his difficult stunts himself, will again leave fans in awe with the new Mission: Impossible sequel.
The 2025 film also includes multiple action-packed scenes which have been performed organically by the 62-year-old superstar.
The trailer of the new flick did give viewers a glimpse of Tom doing a scene underwater.
A new picture from that specific scene has been shared by Empire, that showcased the Top Gun actor wearing a specially designed suit.
While talking about the scene, Cruise revealed: “I’m breathing in my own carbon dioxide. It builds up in the body and affects the muscles. You have to overcome all of that while you’re doing it and be present.”
The image was from behind-the-scenes, which showed the actor using a lit mask just to prove that it was him performing the terrifying stunt.
Director Christpher McQuarrie also gave his two cents over the stunt. According to him, it was challenging and really punishing for the actor.
“He’s in a rotating structure filled with debris, and you had to find a way to make that environment look as chaotic and unhinged as humanly possible, but in a way that you could repeat, and that Tom could navigate, and survive”, added the filmmaker.
The world now eagerly waits for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is slated to release on May 21, 2025.
