Drew Barrymore expresses fear for not repeating her childhood experiences as a parent
Drew Barrymore has recently offered valuable advice on parenting patterns.
While interacting with her audience on her eponymous talk show, Drew shared wise words when asked about any parenting tip that she can pass down.
To which the Never Been Kissed actress replied that wherever you came from or if your past makes you nervous as a parent because you didn’t have a “big foundation” of your own parents or maybe even if you made mistakes along the way.
It’s important to remember that it “doesn’t mean that’s the kind of parent you will be,” said the mother of two children.
During the show, Drew also expressed her fear for not repeating childhood patterns as a parent for her own children.
She revealed she wanted so badly things to be different which made her live in fear and a lot of anxiety.
Therefore, when people or your family talked to you about things, “I was like what you are talking about,” recalled the Charlie’s Angels actress.
Drew further said that she would feel inferior about all those traditions in a family which she wasn’t aware of
However, after becoming a parent, she realised that her daughters, who are 10 and 12, don’t have to face those experiences which she went through as a child.
So, Drew explained that if “you want to build a new blueprint from your own past and life experience, it is totally possible”.
