LA fires lead to 2025 GRAMMYs postponement discussions
Executives in talks to postpone Grammy awards or explore other options
With several premieres and screenings halted due to the Los Angeles wildfires, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards are also seemingly on the line.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, many sources claimed that an active discussion is underway to determine whether to postpone the CBS show and all its events or pivot the broadcast to a fundraiser.
Per the outlet, one senior television executive says it’s highly likely the Grammy’s will postpone given the overall disaster in the city caused by the fire sparked by a wind event earlier this week.
Another music industry source says what transpires in the coming days will be key to determining if the show will go on.
It is pertinent to note that the Grammys are scheduled for Sunday, February 2, at Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A.
Given the situation due to the apocalyptic fire, it is highly likely that the award night—typically a glamorous event to celebrate the past year’s biggest artists and top hits— would not take place as the city has bigger priorities.
However, no final verdict has been given by the authorities and organisers of the Grammys.
