Prince Harry's Christmas absence harder to ignore after Queen Camilla’s invitation

In a groundbreaking move for the Royal Family, Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, has been invited to join the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, marking a major shift in royal tradition. 

However, the absence of King Charles's own son, Prince Harry, has raised eyebrows among experts, making this holiday season even more notable.

Tom, a food critic and author, shared that his mother personally invited him to the festivities, and he and his family are making arrangements to attend. 

Speaking on Palace Confidential, royal expert Richard Eden pointed out the significance of the invite, highlighting that Tom had previously turned down similar offers. 

"To have the King's stepson at Sandringham, but not his own son, is certainly a notable moment," Eden remarked, emphasizing the weight of the absence.

Traditionally, Tom has spent the festive season with his ex-wife, Sara Buys, and their two teenage children, Lola, 17, and Freddy, 14. 

His holiday routine has typically involved lounging in tracksuit bottoms, popping to the pub while the Christmas dinner cooks, and trying to get his kids to watch The Wild Geese. 

But this year, attending Sandringham will mark a significant departure from that laid-back tradition.

Speaking candidly about his usual Christmas plans, Tom said, "For the past 15 years, it’s been: I go back to my ex-wife’s house, sit in my tracksuit bottoms, go to the pub while the beef’s in, then try to get my children to watch The Wild Geese. So this would be a bit different."

While he hasn’t been told which royals will attend the family gathering at Sandringham, Tom revealed he knows one thing for sure: "There’s turkey, sprouts, and church. 

And I have to bring a suit and a dinner jacket." This marks a significant change for the royal son, as he prepares for a Christmas unlike any other.
