Cynthia Erivo slams Dax Shepherd for inappropriate bathroom question

Cynthia Erivo won’t let anyone embarrass her just like that.

The Wicked star shut down Dax Shepherd when he asked her if her long talon nails get in the way of her bathroom chores.

During a discussion over her upcoming movie on Armchair Expert with Dax and Monica Padman, Erivo pushed back with a witty answer when Dax asked her if her long nails become a problem while wiping her behind after she goes to the bathroom.

To Dax’s surprise, Cynthia had a comeback before he could even finish.

“I knew you would ask that question,” she said, noting how “no one’s afraid” to bring that up. “My answer is that nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside,” Erivo added. “You use tissue, correct? And you wipe!”

Dax, 49, rephrased his question, reiterating, “Does the tissue go on the tip of the fingernails, or do you try to get the tissue…” he said, before Cynthia, 37, cut her off and said, “Pads of the fingers.”

“Great, great, great, now we’re getting somewhere,” Dax said. “Then you’re just feeling the little tickle of the nails on the crack of your b–t sometimes?”

However, the actress backed her answer, saying she doesn’t experience this as she uses tissues.

After having his part of the fun, Dax asked Cynthia if she was annoyed by the question.

“I'm annoyed by it. I'm, like, 'Come on, guys,' ” Erivo said. “But I get it, but it's also, like, ‘I'm a functioning adult, and I've never walked around smelling like, you know…' ”

The Wicked star’s talon nails have been a centre of attention across her tour to promote the movie alongside Ariana Grande.
