'Stranger Things' Season 5 trailer revealed the time jump length, episode titles, and more
Stranger Things is officially gearing up for its final showdown.
On Stranger Things Day, celebrated every Nov. 6 (the date of Will Byers' disappearance in season 1), Netflix surprised fans with a teaser for season 5. Among the biggest reveals was that the much-anticipated last season will premiere in 2025 and will include a one-year time jump, setting the story in the fall of 1987.
The Duffer Brothers hinted at this time jump back in 2022, citing how much older the cast has become since the previous season. “Ideally, we’d have shot [seasons 4 and 5] back-to-back, but there was just no feasible way to do that,” Ross Duffer previously explained.
The season 5 teaser also confirmed episode titles for the final eight installments, with episode 1 called “The Crawl.” Other titles include “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Escape From Camazotz,” and the cryptic finale, “The Rightside Up.”
When fans last saw Eleven, Mike, Will, and the Hawkins crew, they faced unimaginable horrors as the Upside Down burst into their world. Max remained unconscious after a harrowing encounter, but actress Sadie Sink previously teased her season 5 arc with, “They love having me run. That’s all I’ll say.”
