'The Office' star reveals 'aggressive' health diagnosis
'The Office' star opens up about recent health scare
The Office’s Jenna Fischer is getting candid about her health struggles in recent update.
The actress, who portrayed the role of Pam Beesly in popular US sitcom, took to her Instagram on Tuesday, October 8, to make a shocking revelation about her breast cancer diagnosis.
In order to mark the breast cancer awareness month, Fischer said that she hid her health scare with the help of wigs and hats while undergoing treatment.
Sharing a round-up of snaps , she wrote in the caption, “October is breast cancer awareness month. I never thought I’d be making an announcement like this but here we are.
“Last December, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer. After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free.”
Expressing gratitude to the people around her for sticking with her through thick and thin, she went on to add, “I wanted a photo of myself in my patchy pixie looking happy and healthy to go along with this news. A big thank you to Angela Kinsey’s husband Josh Snyder for taking this photo. It’s just one example of the care they showed me during this journey.”
In addition, Fischer, who underwent chemotherapy in February, noted that although the disease was “aggressive,” it proved out to be highly treatable.
