Anne Hathaway is taking responsibility for her actions as she sent a “very personal” apology over an ‘awful’ interview in the past.
The Devil Wears Prada actress reached out to reporter Kjersti Flaa to set the record straight on a 'cringe' interview they had in 2012 while promoting Les Miserables.
The 41-year-old actress was caught off guard by the journalist's joke and responded with brief, one-word answers and even avoided some questions in retaliation.
One week after re-sharing awkward interview, Flaa posted new TikTok video, reflecting on Hathaway’s apology.
She said, "I have to say, I was pretty shocked [by the apology].
"I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never going to even see that video, but she did and she did something pretty amazing."
Flaa, who has been critical of Blake Lively after a car crash interview in 2016, claimed that the Princess Diaries alum apologized for her part, explaining that she was dealing with ‘herself’ at the time.
The journalist couldn’t help but gleam with glee over the Academy Award winner’s sweet gesture, which comes amid development of her upcoming films.
She continued, "Just talking about it makes me almost teary-eyed. I was just so grateful that she did that.
"It was a very personal note and we decided that I wouldn't share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did because I thought that was just so amazing."
On professional front, the actress confirmed that a third Princess Diaries film is officially in the works.
