It’s a Diary of a Wimpy Kid reunion!
Zachary Gordon and Robert Capron, who charmed audiences as best friends Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson in the beloved movie series, recently caught up 14 years after their first on-screen adventure.
Author Jeff Kinney, creator of the iconic Wimpy Kid series, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to share the heartwarming moment.
“These kids and their backwards hats and Mountain Dews and chocolate chip cookies,” Kinney, 53, wrote alongside a photo of the two actors, now 26.
Gordon and Capron starred in three live-action adaptations of Diary of a Wimpy Kid from 2010 to 2012, alongside a stellar cast including Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Devon Bostick.
Though the franchise was rebooted in 2017 with new faces, fans still hold a soft spot for the original duo.
Capron had fun with their reunion, poking fun at a typo in an X post that called him “Robert Apron.” He even posted a meme of his face on a kitchen apron, adding, "Yes chef," with Diary of a Wimpy Kid’s official Instagram account cheekily replying, “Would buy.”
Both actors remain active in Hollywood, with Gordon appearing in films like American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules and releasing music, while Capron has worked as a writers’ assistant on Disney+’s The Muppets Mayhem series.
