Wesley Snipes broke multiple records with his cameo appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.
According to Deadline, Guinness World Records announced earlier this week that the American actor and martial artist added two titles under his belt by reprising his role as Blade in Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s recent release.
Snipes, 62, first played the live-action character in 1998 in the solo movie Blade.
With his newly minted Guinness record for the Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Character, Snipes dethroned Jackman, 55.
Snipes' return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes nearly 26 years after he first played Eric Brooks, the half-vampire Daywalker. In contrast, Jackman first played Logan, the Wolverine in X-Men, released in 2000.
The second title Snipes unlocked for himself is the Longest Gap Between Character Appearances in Marvel Films.
With more than 19 years since his last appearance in Blade: Trinity premiered in 2004, he claimed the new title, which was previously secured by Alfred Molina with his return as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), 17 years after Spider-Man 2 (2004).
Additionally, in a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Snipes, who first co-starred with Reynolds in Blade: Trinity, admitted that his cameo was also unexpected for him, as he "did not think it was possible."
"I didn’t think that Marvel was into it. Disney was into it," he added that time.
