Princess Eugenie stays away from tennis tournament: 'very upset'
Queen Camilla, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall have all had a day out at Wimbledon
Princess Eugenie has been absent from an event beloved by Royal Family members for the past 10 years.
The Princess of York has not been seen at Wimbledon since 2014.
This year, her sister Princess Beatrice attended the event on Tuesday with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. T
he royal couple sat directly in front of British comedians Stephen Fry and Michael McIntyre at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Beatrice and Fry exchanged a warm handshake upon recognizing each other.
Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall, and Peter Phillips have all been present at Wimbledon this week.
Additionally, Princess Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, has been spotted at the tournament twice this summer, while her sister Pippa made her first public appearance in months at the event today.
Royal Family members are often seen enjoying matches from the Royal Box. It remains unclear why Princess Eugenie has stayed away from the tournament for a decade.
Last year, Prince William and Princess Kate brought their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to watch the men’s singles final. Kate noted that their youngest child, Prince Louis, was "very upset" about missing the event.
The Princess of Wales usually presents the trophies to the winners of the men’s and women’s singles at the tournament. However, she is currently awaiting her doctor’s advice on whether she is well enough to attend due to her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
