Scarlett Johansson reveals reaction to Colin Jost’s ‘SNL’ joke
Scarlett Johansson got candid about Colin Jost’s ‘SNL’ joke about her body
Scarlett Johansson’s husband Colin Jost’s Saturday Night Live joke about her body may have taken a toll on the actress.
Johansson revealed that she “blacked out” as a reaction to seeing her own picture during husband Jost’s annual joke swap segment on Saturday Night Live, a month ago.
“That’s like a tame version if you guys have ever seen the jokes,” Johansson, who is usually the subject of at least one jab during that segment each year, shared with Kelly Clarkson on Thursday’s episode of her talk show named after herself.
“As soon as they showed my picture, I — ” the actress shared, before revealing, “I actually don’t remember that segment. I fully blacked out.”
Jost and Michael Che, his co-host on Weekend Update, conducted their yearly joke swap section during the Season 49 finale of the late-night comedy series.
In this segment, they write offensive jokes for each other to say out loud live.
“ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in ‘Her,’” Jost, 42, started with a nervous giggle.
“Which I’ve never bothered to watch, because without that body, what’s the point of listening?” he said, stunning the audience with the unusual joke.
Johansson, 39, continued to get candid on her feelings about the segment, telling Clarkson, “It is brutal, I feel like every year it gets worse.”
“We need to, like, go into witness protection that night. Like, I am absolutely terrified we’re gonna be like, targeted. It’s so bad,” Johansson expressed.
