Taylor Swift shares glimpse of studio session with Florence Welch
Taylor Swift released 'The Tortured Poets Department' on April 19, 2024
Taylor Swift is giving fans a glimpse into the creation of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
On Monday, Swift's official fan site, Taylor Nation, shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram showing Swift and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine collaborating on the song Florida!!!.
The black-and-white footage captures Welch in a recording booth while Swift, 34, films herself outside, beaming with enthusiasm and excitement.
"The level of talent that was in the recording studio this day," the clip's caption read.
The song also includes a credit for Emma Stone, who also helped in the song's creation.
Florence Welch was equally thrilled about her collaboration with the Bad Blood singer, as seen in her April 19 Instagram post.
She wrote: "Me and my ghosts had a hell of a time @taylorswift Honoured to be in this department."
The post featured an animated note with lyrics from the song and custom letterhead that read "Florence Welch Department of Hurricanes and Haunted Lace Florida."
Afterwards, Welch told British Vogue in an interview that same month that Swift had approached her with "a concept and a story" before they had started recording.
Although Welch called the entire event "a fun time," she claimed she was unaware of the publicity that would ensue.
"There’s the sort of bigness of [Taylor Swift the phenomenon], and then there’s the Taylor I spend time with in the studio, who is just the sweetest and most down to earth," she told the outlet.
