Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have recently shared their honest reaction after winning first joint Daytime Emmy Award.
On June 7, the hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark earned this prestigious award for outstanding daytime talk series host.
However, Kelly and Mark didn’t attend the event because they were visiting their daughter, Lola, in London, where she's lived since graduating from NYU.
Therefore, Mark and Kelly decided to give their acceptance speech on June 10’s episode of their show.
“He said, ‘Hey, if you guys win, can I give the acceptance speech.’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Who do you want to thank?’ I said, ‘Thank Ryan Seacrest,’” said Mark, while giving reference to Kelly’s former co-host, who left the show in April 2023 after six years.
Kelly stated, “We weren’t there to give our speech but I’m going to give a brief acceptance speech. I just want to say, first and foremost, thank you, Mark, for being an incredible, incredible partner.”
“You make it look easy and it is not easy and the ease at which you do this job inspires me and all of us every single day,” she remarked.
Kelly also thanked her audience on the show, adding, “You make us feel like Emmy winners every day, which we are certainly not. But we owe it all to you. So, thank you very much.”
“That was good… I would have said, my dad always told me to marry somebody who’s better than you and try to work with people who are way better than you as well,” continued Mark.
He stated, “So, I’ve done both those things. So, thank you. Thank you for holding me up. I appreciate it.”
