Prince Harry has seemingly fuelled the rift with his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, who had been desperate to reconcile with his son.
However, given the rift and the shocking accusations the Duke of Sussex has made against his family, the King is now hanging by a thread to take a major step against his “darling boy,” per royal expert Tom Quinn.
“Charles feels he has made huge effort to repair his relationship with his son, but that Harry refuses to give an inch,” Quinn told The Mirror.
The author noted that since harry refuses to budge from his position, Charles is “changing his tactics.”
“The new plan is to take a harder line with Harry; a move from good cop to bad cop, but palace insiders agree that Charles is at the end of his tether,” Quinn explained. “He wants to be reconciled his son, but nothing he does seems to work.”
He continued, “One underlying problem is that Harry was never really that close to his father as a child – looked after by staff and shunted between Diana and Charles, Harry has always looked lost and forgotten and it's too late now for his father to do anything about it.”
Earlier this month, Prince Harry was refused a meeting with his father while he was visiting London for an Invictus Games event. While fans were hoping for a reconciliation between the father and son, the chances of that happening are starting to appear bleak.
