Prince William reacts to King Charles' orders to delay royal engagements

Prince William has issued an apology following King Charles’ decision to postpone royal engagements until the upcoming UK elections.

The Prince of Wales was slated for a trip on May 23, 2024, however, he can no longer attend the engagement as scheduled.

In a statement to HELLO! magazine, Kensington Palace said: "We look forward to rescheduling in the future and are extremely sorry to anyone who has already travelled."

The statement comes after Buckingham Palace relayed the monarch’s decision to call off further royal engagement after British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a date for elections.

As the elections are set to be held on 4th of July, it has cast doubts over upcoming major royal events in June, including King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to Japan, Trooping the Colour and etc.

Meanwhile, the cancer-stricken King’s trip to France for D-Day commemoration has been confirmed to go ahead as planned on June 6.

William will also join his father and stepmother Queen Camilla for a few events in the country.

It shortly followed an update on William's wife Kate Middleton following a report about her Early Years' project was made public earlier this week.

Kensington Palace dashed fans' hope about the princess' prospective resumption of royal duties, noting she is "not returning" yet.
