Sonakshi Sinha shares insights into her 'unabashed' role as Fareedan in 'Heeramandi'

Sonakshi Sinha revealed her transformation into the confident and self-assured Fareedan in Heeramandi, describing herself as "unabashed, unapologetic, and self-obsessed."

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday, the 36-year-old actress shared a post, featuring a carousel of photos from her character Fareedan's look test for the series Heeramandi.

In the caption, the Dabangg actress discussed her role, highlighting that Fareedan was ahead of her time.

She penned, "The day I became Fareedan. Fareedan's arrival doesn't just bring relationships... it creates stories! This is the story of Fareedan's look test...I thought I was going to have long flowy locks that would sway in slow motion every time I entered the frame, like every Bhansali heroine.."

"Instead, Sanjay sir said give her a curly bob cut... Fareedan is ahead of her time, a modern figure in every way in the world of Heeramandi. Unabashed, unapologetic, self-obsessed and completely her own person. This was the day I became her," Sonakshi added.

Alongside Sonakshi, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar features an ensemble cast, including, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal and others.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web-series was released on May 1, 2024 on Netflix.
