Ed Sheeran recently won hearts at his +-=÷x Tour, called the Mathematics Tour, with a promise to return to India next year.

Sheeran collaborated with Armaan Malik on stage for 2Step, closing their performance with Shah Rukh Khan’s signature ‘open-arm’ pose.

Throughout the night Ed set the stage on fire at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai.

Thousands gathered to witness the British music sensation team up with Indian artists Diljit Dosanjh and Malik.

Expressing his interest, the Grammy winner said that he was 'happy' to be back in the country.

"I know India is a big place but everyone here at the concert is not necessarily from Mumbai. People have travel a long way to be here today. People got on trains, planes, they drove, and got kids. I know a lot goes into you spending your Saturday night with me."

"I did not take this for granted, I appreciate all the efforts of people to come here. Thank you so much for giving your Saturday night, you could be doing anything but you are spending it with me," Sheeran added.

The 33-year-old singer strummed his guitar, belting out some of his classics, including Tides, The A Team, Perfect, Happier, Don't Call Me Baby, Castle On The Hill, Galway Girl and Eyes Closed.

Diljit Singh jumped in to perform with the British singer on the Punjabi Track Lover, leaving a priceless moment for fans to capture.

The two displayed professionalism, extending greetings towards each other.

As Dosanjh announced in Punjabi, noting: "A loud round of applause for Sheeran".

Meanwhile, Sheeran said: "Mumbai, make some noise for Diljit."

The crowd grooved along, watching the duo perform together on a 360-degree circular revolving stage, as Sheeran noted, "This is just the beginning."
