Kanye West has recently been stopped by Brazil to perform in their country amid his controversial statement against Jesus and Adolf Hitler.
A source working in South America told The Sun, “There’s absolutely no chance the rapper is not permitted to perform in Brazil.”
Kanye, who is also known as Ye, became “virtually untouchable by promoters” who didn’t want to risk their position by giving him “a platform after his 40-minute irrational tirade.
Interestingly, Brazil is not the only country to ban the Chicago rapper, other countries like Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East did not allow Kanye for performance.
Not only Ye’s ramblings, his scantily clad wife Bianca Censori also sparked concerns among promoters to give him the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Ye, who was going to perform in Rio de Janiero, was declined by Rio’s government.
A source working for the Rio government said the “risks associated with a Ye concert were obvious”.
“The image of Kanye is way too controversial. Nobody wants to be linked with him and his recent controversies,” added an insider.
Even though Kanye’s new album, Vultures 1, topped the charts, a music business consultant for South American venues told the outlet, “Nobody wants to be linked with him.”
“No local government or people that manage the stadiums and the venues for concerts or cultural events want to have Kanye come to their city. It’s just too much to handle. The answer will always be no,” said the source.
