Kiran Rao looks forward to watch Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film 'Animal'
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film, Animal was released on December 1, 2023
Kiran Rao, Bollwyood director and producer, revealed she has not yet watched Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie Animal, which features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
During an exclusive interview with Lallanto, the 50-year-old screen writer told that although Animal is not her usual preference, she's interested in giving it a chance since it's been well-received by the audience.
The Laal Singh Chaddha producer further commented on the positive reception of her recent project, Laapataa Ladies, released on March 1, 2024, noting that it's uncommon for both critics and viewers to enjoy a movie together.
Kiran said that she observed that audiences often prefer action-packed films, while critics might have different tastes, revealing that she was surprised that the critics also appreciated the movie.
She explained, “Laapataa Ladies has gotten so much love, I am grateful. Even the critics have liked it. When the audience likes a film, it’s often not necessary the critics will. The audience likes action-packed, VFX-heavy films these days. Films like Animal."
"I want to watch the film, it’s necessary. It has done so well because people have loved it. I’ve heard that Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s craft is really good. Ranbir (Kapoor) is also a good actor. It will be an interesting watch for me, people seem to love it,” Kiran added.
The film Animal was released on December 1, 2023.
