Manchester City cruise into Champions League quarters with 3-1 win over Copenhagen

Manchester City secured their passage to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen, sealing a comfortable 6-2 aggregate triumph. 

The defending champions maintained their stronghold on the competition with a 10th consecutive win.

The evening unfolded with swift dominance for Pep Guardiola's side, who capitalised on a two-goal advantage from the first leg. Manuel Akanji set the tone in the fifth minute, expertly volleying in Julian Alvarez's corner to give Manchester City an early lead.

Reflecting on the early breakthrough, Akanji shared, "I saw the ball coming. It was perfect for my foot. I was really happy about it. It was our aim to score early." The first-half continued to unfold in City's favor, as Kamil Grabara's goalkeeping mishap allowed Alvarez to extend the lead just four minutes later.

Despite a consolation goal from Mohamed Elyounoussi, Erling Haaland, a goal-scoring force, added to City's tally just before halftime. Rodri's precision with a clipped ball over the top found Haaland, who demonstrated his clinical finishing with a low shot through defenders.
