German teen boy spends £8,500 every year to live on train, travels 600 miles every day — but why?
German teen boy Lasse Stolley has been living, working on trains with no aim of stopping
A German teenager known as Lasse Stolley has been consistently travelling more than 600 miles every day through Deutsche Bahn trains across Germany.
The teenager is said to have been practically living and working on trains with no aim to stop.
He takes showers in public swimming pools and leisure centres in order to clean himself and feel fresh.
Due to being a self-employed coder, he is capable of using an unlimited annual railcard and spends £8,500 on his routine life in trains.
He told The Mirror: "I've been living on the train as a digital nomad for a year and a half now. At night I sleep on the moving Intercity Express (ICE) train and during the day I sit in a seat, at a table, and work as a programmer, surrounded by many other commuters and passengers. I travel from one end of the country to the other. I am exploring the whole of Germany."
According to Business Insider, he left his parents' house in Fockbek Schleswig-Holstein, while he was only a 16-year-old.
The teenager's parents expressed a lot of doubts about his decision to spend his life on trains. He said that he had to do a lot of convincing, however, he chose to do what he wished.
