Deadpool and Wolverine star Hugh Jackman signs up for another unconventional role
Hugh Jackman decided to make 2024 a year of unusual choices.
The Greatest Showman actor, according to reports, has signed up for the lead role in upcoming comedy-thriller, Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story.
In the upcoming project, Hugh is set to portray an Irish shepherd who gets murdered. However, the intriguing twist unfolds as his flock of sheep develops human attributes, transforming into amateur detectives in their quest to uncover the identity of his murderer.
A source told The Sun, “Three Bags Full is being made into a film and Hugh is about to sign on to play the leading role.”
They added, "The story follows the murder of George the shepherd, whose flock try to solve who killed him before trying to tell his widow Kate.”
The source also hinted at Emma Thompson in talks to get casted for Hugh Jackman’s wife’s role in the movie.
"Hugh was approached about taking on the role of George and Emma is signing on to play his wife,” the source told the outlet.
The movie is based on the original novel, Three Bags Full, in which the flock of sheep endeavours to unveil the mystery surrounding their shepherd George's untimely murder.
With George's widow, Kate, kept in the dark, the sheep, imbued with human-like qualities, start a detective regime led by one sheep named Miss Marple.
The insider said of the film, “It sounds baa-rmy but it’s a brilliant book and will translate so well on to the big screen.”
