A former employee of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is suing Vince McMahon and others, alleging that she was subjected to "sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse, and trafficking" when she was employed by the organisation.

The worker, going by the name Janel Grant, filed the lawsuit against McMahon, WWE executive John Laurinaitis, and the business on Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. Grant claimed in the complaint made public by People that McMahon had abused her during their physical connection, even at work, and had asked for sex in return for granting her a job at the company.

Grant stated in the letter that she had contacted McMahon after informing the resident management of her building that she was in need of employment, and the co-founder of WWE made her a friend by promising her "a yet-to-be-determined role at WWE."

On the other hand, the complaint claims that during their initial work meetings, he showed an "increased lack of boundaries" by greeting her in his "knickers," "repeatedly asking for hugs," and spending "hours" discussing personal parts of his life.

She went on to say that in return for her job at the company, he "pushed" her for "a physical relationship," to which she finally "succumbed." On June 17, 2019, she began working as an "administrator-coordinator" in the legal department of the WWE, and according to the lawsuit, she learned that "McMahon expected the physical relationship to continue as part of her employment."

Grant said that McMahon shared "explicit photographs and videos" of her with the WWE's IT team, executives, producers, and others about a year after they began dating.

She further stated that McMahon had "directed" her to see him before her shift for "sexual encounters" and that McMahon had recruited "individuals," including Laurinaitis, to engage in "sexual relations" with her.
