Australian Open: Novak Djokovic labelled "most unlikeable player ever"
The Serbian player has reached quarterfinals after scoring 6-0, 6-0, 6-3 in 4th round of Australian Open
Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is being labelled the "most unlikeable player ever" following his match with Adrian Mannarino in the Australian Open on Sunday.
The top seed reached the quarterfinals following a 6-0, 6-0, 6-3 score. He is currently ranked world no. 1 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
During the game, when Mannarino finally scored a point in the third set, the crowd in the Rod Laver Arena began cheering for him loudly, Sportbible reported.
Djokovic took issue with this and began arguing with the umpire after he was called for a time violation on his serve.
This made the crowd spring up a chorus of jeers, and the spectators quickly began attacking him.
While many appreciated Djokovic's unparallelled charisma and entertainment value, others weren't impressed with the 24-time Grand Slam champion's antics.
One fan called him “the most unlikeable player of all time, and it’s not even close."
Others followed suit, calling him all sorts of things, like "There is no hate or love. He’s just cringing, and he should be ignored. I mean, look at the score. He's looking for unnecessary drama and attention."
"He's just classless. But unbelievable tennis player. You can be both at the same time."
Another user said, "He’s become completely unwatchable.
