Liam Cunningham reveals he ‘texted’ Kit Harington for GoT spinoff series: Deets inside
Game of Thrones sequel is in development while Kit Harington will reprise Jon Snow character
Liam Cunningham has recently revealed he texted Kit Harington to bring back his character Davos Seaworth in upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff series.
"I did send a text saying, ‘Better Call Davos,’" said Liam in a new interview with Den of Geek.
However, Liam, who is also promoting his new movie, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, shared, "I haven't heard anything back."
Liam told Den of Geek, "You probably know more than I do. I wish them the best to whoever's involved in it, and if the check is big enough, I might even show up again!"
Back in June 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported about GoT sequel series for Jon Snow and disclosed that Kit would reprise his character.
However, George RR Martin, the creator of GoT, confirmed about the sequel series in a blog post a week later. He also opened up about the working title for the show, Snow.
Liam is not sure that his character will make a comeback in the sequel series but he’s convinced that "GoT phenomenon" will live on forever.
Liam further said, "I think GoT is one of those things that after each decade, people are going to discover as if the previous decade had forgotten it. I think it’s going to be rediscovered. I think it’s a bit like Dracula."
"The original GoT was a phenomenon. Nobody could have predicted that it would turn into some kind of cultural phenomenon, and they’re very, very difficult to design. You build it, and they come or they don’t come. In that case, they came in droves," he stated.
Liam added, "It’s a world that people are fascinated with, and long may it continue."
