What Rockstar mailed creators: GTA 6 Merch fans now want

The most praised piece of GTA 6 merch right now isn't a statue. It's a lighter. And it didn't come in the $400 box.

Rockstar has sent out press kits with black boxes marked with the studio’s logo to various content creators. A YouTuber named TmarTn opened his box on camera, and the reaction has highlighted the high price of Rockstar's Collector's Edition.

Among other things, you have a blue t-shirt that welcomes you to Vice City. There is also a blue hat and a tote bag that feature the Rockstar logo and VI letters along with some palm trees incorporated into the design, which are all covered in stickers.

And of course, there is the Zippo lighter, featuring slogans and logos on both sides, which TmarTn pointed out as the only thing he would actually use. Some of the items refer to Macca the Gator, who serves as the mascot of the Collector's Edition.

Pre-orders for the $400 box don't include a physical copy of the game. Much of the criticism lands on the "ugly" Macca statue.

Under TmarTn's video, MJGVibes wrote that they'd "rather have that than the collectors edition." Few commenters seemed willing to pay $400 for clothing and accessories that creators received for nothing.

Can you buy this merch from the Rockstar Store?

Possibly. GTAVice reports that identical products appeared in a recent data mine of the Rockstar Store. Nothing is confirmed regarding pricing or timing.

Rockstar has been revealing GTA 6 merchandise on Thursdays so far, led by a vinyl soundtrack and Goodtime State items. If you were hoping the kit would leak a map of Leonida, it didn't. TmarTn found none inside.
