Mandy Moore reveals her plans to return to music

Mandy Moore has no plans to pick up the microphone again.

For those unversed, the 42-year-old star rose to fame after releasing the pop song Candy in 1999and later ventured into acting.

In a new interview with Variety, when asked if she intends to follow in her best friend Hilary Duff's footsteps after the Younger star released her first album in over a decade earlier this year.

“I am not the superstar that Hilary is,” Mandy replied. “I am so proud to watch her absolutely crush it on stage and performing around the country."

"She is such a role model to so many, myself included," the actress continued.

Moore further told the oultet, “I’m so inspired by what she’s doing because she’s also the best mom in the world and such a good friend. She kind of just does all of it so effortlessly.”

Talking about her own comeback, she said, “I don’t have that canon of hits in the same way, and I’ve never had designs on being a pop star.”

Mandy added she would be delighted to return to the stage once her children have grown up.

This Is Us actress is a mother to three kids, sons Gus, 5, and Ozzie, 3, and daughter Louise, 2.
