King Charles weighs in on US-Iran conflict

King Charles III discussed the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran with Pakistan’s interior minister when he hosted the country’s cricket team at Clarence House on Wednesday.

The monarch spoke candidly with Mr Mohsin Naqvi, who has been at the forefront of diplomatic efforts to mediate between Washington and Tehran.

"It's all going backwards," King Charles was heard telling Naqvi.

The Pakistani interior minister responded saying "Yes, it is a story of one step forward and one step back."

The monarch then told the minister: "We're going to have to rely on you a great deal."

Naqvi reportedly described the US-Iran discussions as "one of the most difficult" he had ever participated in.

Mohsin Naqvi later described his conversation with the King as "very productive".

He said King Charles had recognised Islamabad’s contribution to peace and security efforts in the Middle East.
