Feminist activist and journalist Gloria Steinem dies at 92, leaving behind a lasting legacy

Gloria Steinem, the pioneering feminist activist and journalist who became a face of the women’s liberation movement in the US has died at the age of 92. The news was confirmed in a post on Instagram, which stated she “passed away peacefully” at her home in New York City.
Steinman started her career as a journalist in New York in the 1970s, one of the first publications to explore gender inequalities beyond domestic burdens and the mandates of the beauty industry.
She remained one of the most active voices campaigning for women’s reproductive rights. On the other hand, she also gained national attention with her 1963 undercover article “I was a Playboy Bunny” which investigated female labor conditions at Playboy Clubs.
