Andrew Garfield drops cryptic hint on 'Spider-Man' return

Andrew Garfield will return as Spider Man or not, it seems like it will remain a mystery until the release of Doomsday.

The 41-year-old actor, who played Spider-Man in two Spidey movies and later returned as the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, made a recent appearance at the premiere of his new film, The Uprising at West Hollywood and left his fans guessing with his potential cameo as Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday.

When talking to Variety on the red carpet, the actor was asked if fans will see him return in the upcoming Marvel movie; Garfield bluntly denied.

However, the star has done something similar when previously asked about his return as Spider-Man in No Way Home, but surprised the fans by eventually appearing in the movie.

When Garfield was reminded of this, he smiled and said, “You’ll find out, I suppose, one way or another,” leaving fans wondering if he is really telling the truth this time.

Avengers: Doomsday is all set to hit theater on December 18.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland in the titular character, was released earlier in July and smashed the box office with over $2 billion.

Elsewhere during the conversation, Garfield revealed that he has not watched the movie yet and not even congratulated Holland over its mega success.

He explained, “I don’t want to be disingenuous. A movie making money and people going to see it is an incredible thing, but I will reach out to him once I’ve seen [“Spider-Man”], which I’m very excited to see."

"And his other film, ‘The Odyssey,’ I haven’t managed to see either yet. I will send him a message when I see the work he has done," he added, referring to Holland's other new film by Christopher Nolan, which also grossed over $1 billion.
