Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK return sparks concerns
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex often found themselves under public scrutiny due to their tense relationship with the royal family over the past few years.
Following their homecoming decision, the royal couple faced their long-running security concerns once again.
It is worth noting here that Prince Harry, along with his wife, Meghan, stepped down from their royal duties in 2020. Since then, security concerns have been a major issue for the former working royals as he has fought many legal battles in recent years.
However, the Duchess of Sussex received an online note of caution from a longtime reporter, Desalu-Vold, before their UK return: "Meghan, you haven't even arrived and look at the chaos. For your mental health, emotional health and physical health, I would reconsider," she said while showing concern.
A royal commentator, John McDermott, said that the couple could possibly play a significant role within the royal family in times ahead, saying, "We are going to enter an interesting period of duelling courts. Harry is quite capable of championing the causes important to him without help from The Firm, as we have seen over the past few years.”
Noting, "To me, the interesting piece is that Harry and Meghan could potentially help solve the future problem of there simply not being enough working royals, something that could become more apparent during William's reign.”
"If the brothers can patch things up, and the anniversary of Diana's death next year seems like one possible opportunity, Harry and Meghan could be major assets to the Crown. But in the short term, I do not anticipate a return to royal duties," the commentator further suggested.
It is pertinent to mention that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have already landed on UK soil in a private jet on 26 August.
