Meghan Markle enters ‘a battle she can only lose’ against a ‘confused old lady’

Meghan Markle recently came forward to clear the air against Martha Stewart and it does not seemed to have taken off well, in the eyes of someone like European editor-at-large, Tom Sykes.

Ther reason for this is the credibility, history and position Ms Stewart holds in the Hollywood landscape.

For those still unversed with this row however its got a lot to do with a L.A dinner party that Meghan attended and wound up ‘spilling’ the details during about the Firm.

The allegation came straight from Ms Stewart to People magazine and sees the house-hold name say, “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”

Meghan’s response to this was fast too, and came to the same outlet. However, it’s the word choice that left an expert wondering whether she has made a big mistake.

The statement by Meghan’s team claims Martha’s claim was “simply untrue,” and that “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”

Whats worse is that she also called Martha “confused” and in the eyes of Mr Sykes, “Implying that Martha, 85 is a dotty old lady is an incredibly stupid thing to do, especially for Meghan, who enjoys very little public goodwill.”

Another thing he mentioned in his piece for the Royalist is also that there’s a high chance the comment was a slight against her TV show because Martha’s comment also included another choice few words like, “if you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”

In his personal opinion Mr Sykes writes, “The only sensible thing for Meghan to have done was to have followed Martha’s example when she was sent to prison: suck it up. Or, as the late Queen Elizabeth II would have put it: never complain, never explain. Launching a counter-story in People implying Martha is a confused old lady is a battle she can only lose.”
