Sarah Ferguson provides much-needed relief to King Charles with latest statement
The former Duchess of York says she is not releasing a book about the royal family
A spokesperson for Sarah Ferguson has denied reports that she is close to signing a multimillion-dollar publishing deal.
Speaking to the Independent, her spokesperson said, “There have been no discussions, and she is not writing a personal memoir; it's not what she's going to do.”
The denial came after The Sun reported that Ferguson was “days away” from a deal following a secret bidding war, and that the book would address her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and her controversial relationship with Jeffrey Epstein as well as thoughts on King Charles, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
The statement come as a much-needed relief for the royal family which has been drawn into a fresh media debate in connection with the late Princess Diana after the release of Charles Spencer’s new book.
Spencer is the younger brother of the late Diana and maternal uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Swan Song: Diana, My Sisterwas published on Tuesday, and is Spencer's take on his sister's life and her unhappy marriage to the now King Charles.
In his book, he claims King Charles was "giddily elated" in the aftermath of Diana's death in 1997, reopening a painful episode for the royal family.
