Spain’s World Cup star Ferran Torres has finally revealed the reason why he wore President Donald Trump-inspired MAGA-style “Make Spain Great Again” at the World Cup homecoming parade.

Speaking in an interview with the CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins Monday night, Ferran explained the decision was completely apolitical.

“It was a funny moment. It was not about politics because honestly, I don’t know about politics,” Barcelona attacker Torres said.

“It was just to be able to see Spain on the top, winning the World Cup. It was just to have fun with my friends, with my family and nothing about politics.”

Even his viral Trump-style cap evoked a response from the US President. Trump appreciated Torres.

“A great player and he was basically wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap. I saw it as a nice tribute and I think he said it with very good intentions, we appreciate it…A nice gesture! He did it very kindly and we appreciate it. It was a great compliment.”

When the footage went viral on social media, the White House responded, “Everyone wants to join the movement.”
