There’s a lot that’s been going on behind the scenes ever since Meghan Markle made it back to the US
Meghan Markle’s managed to land an Emmy nomination, and social media was not kind in their thoughts—especially considering the show itself has already been canceled.
But one insider warns this was pure ‘vindication’ for Meghan, because she “sees it as proof” that the “show struck a chord with the people that matter.”
Moreover, “she was crushed when the show got cancelled,” but more than that, they say Meghan’s biggest defense behind the scenes was always that she thinks the ratings were “unfairly judged” and “nowhere near as bad as some people made out.”
For those unversed with the actual number, she managed to get about 26% on Rotten Tomatoe’s.
But the world holds a vastly different perspective. Some think a drop in ratings is a good measure of failure whereas others are just shocked she managed to ‘wheel’ her way into the list of nominations.
Regarding the latter the insider said, “it’s pretty brutal because, for a lot of people whose shows didn’t get nominated, it seems pretty bizarre that a cancelled show would even be in the running. There are a lot of people convinced she somehow wheedled her way to the nomination, whether that’s fair or not. Emmy campaigning can be catty and competitive at the best of times, but with so many people questioning whether she even deserved the nod, it’s especially vicious.”
Moreover, there is another bubbling complaint, one that says, “her numbers didn’t warrant this recognition,” so “people are convinced that her name and her connections are the only reason she’s gotten this nomination,” according to Heat.
Another thing mentioned before the source finally signed off is that there’s “a lot of bitterness.”
