Prince William pays a heartfelt tribute to Nirmal Purja
Prince William expressed his deep grief over the tragic Broad Peak avalanche.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Saturday, the Prince of Wales paid a heartbreaking tribute to Nirmal Purja, who passed awayin an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan.
In a personal statement, William wrote: "I was truly saddened to hear of the tragic death of Nirmal Purja and those who lost their lives in the avalanche on Broad Peak."
The Prince of Wales added further, "Nims served with distinction in the British Armed Forces before becoming one of the world's greatest mountaineers, putting Nepalese climbers on the map. His relentless pursuit of what seemed impossible, combined with his humility and selflessness, made him truly unique."
"My thoughts are with his family and the families of all those who died. W," Prince William concluded.
It is pertinent to mention thatNirmal Purja, who is also known as Nims or Nimsdai, was a world-renowned British-Nepali mountaineer. He tragically died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan alongside his climbing team.
