Keanu Reeves has not yet publicly commented on the Lego project
Keanu Reeves, a star who has several unforgettable movies to his name, may become the front face of a brand-new Lego movie.
According to Deadline, he is in talks to star in an untitled project in which, if the agreement is finalized, he would work with Josh Cooley, the director of Toy Story 4, where the actor voiced Duke Caboom.
It is, though, unclear if the John Wick star will lend his voice or appear on screen for the character in the film.
Details about the plot have been kept under wraps. But it is a live-action CGI hybrid movie.
Universal is bankrolling the project and has held the rights to Lego since 2020.
Though several announced projects from the studio did not materialize, it raises the stakes higher for a potentially Reeves-led animated movie.
The Lego franchise had a breakout success with The Lego Movie in 2014.
It was followed up by The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie.
Together, they spawned a billion-dollar franchise.
Now, with Reeves in talks to lead a Lego movie with Cooley behind the camera, Universal may finally have a shot to hit a milestone with the animated series.
