King Charles's charity King's Trust releases a statement after the monarch joined young people at an event
The King’s Trust charity on Friday said young people in the newly launched Apple x King’s Trust Creative Labs programme created original music on iPads and performed for the monarch at Battersea Power Station after workshops with Apple executives.
The statement comes two days after King Charles visited a hi-tech music workshop for young people, in a collaboration between his King's Trust charity and technology firm Apple.
Sir Elton John was a special guest at the event, sitting beside the King, as they listened to a short performance from singer-songwriter Skye Newman.
The charity released multiple pictures and a statement on its official Instagram.
It said: “From creating music on an iPad on day one to performing it for His Majesty The King on day two.
That's exactly what happened for the young people taking part in the newly launched Apple x King's Trust Creative Labs programme.
Over two days, participants explored music production using Logic Pro, turning sounds, feelings and experiences into original tracks inspired by the theme Future Sound, Future You.
Working alongside Prophet, Apple Music's Head of Artist Services, Tools and Community, they learned how to develop their ideas and bring them to life through music.
They heard from music artists Skye Newman and Nectar Woode, shared their creativity with Tim Cook, performed their work for HM The King, and experienced the newly opened Apple Music venue at Battersea Power Station. We're so proud of everything they've achieved already."
