Robbie Williams has bid farewell to his longtime manager Michael Loney.
According to The Sun, the 52-year-old English singer-songwriter has been working with Loney for 14 years.
Loney works for ie:music, the company that Williams’ late manager David Enthoven co-founded with Tim Clarke in 1992.
The Rule the World crooner shared his statement with the outlet, saying, “It's been an incredible time and I was fortunate to be managed by some truly wonderful people — most specifically David Enthoven, Tim Clark and Michael Loney.”
Williams revealed the reason behind this big change is that he “has so many opportunities” but he also sees the “music business changing so rapidly” and it requires “fresh energy.”
“I am currently putting together a brand-new team and am hugely excited about the future,” he unveiled.
It is pertinent to mention that an insider told the same outlet that Loney stepped down from eight positions so that the Beyond the Sea hitmaker can feel “fresh energy.” However, the decision is still “entirely amicable.”
They went on to claim that Williams is shaking up his team because he is desperately looking for “more hits and more success.”
“Robbie is a workhorse — and now he has the bit between his teeth and he’s hungry for more records, more hits and more success,” said the source. “Shaking up his team gives him the feeling of a proper fresh start.”
At the start of this year, “he broke The Beatles’ record that filled him with a desire to set the bar as high as he can going forward.”
“Robbie is forever buzzing with ideas about what he can do next. Whether that’s his music, his art or his other business interests,” the insider stated.
