Alexandra Eala is quickly becoming one of the most talked about young players in women’s tennis after a strong run at the Miami Open and growing support from fans around the world.
The 20-year-old from the Philippines reached the semi finals of the tournament, helping boost her global profile.
Eala is currently ranked No. 31 in the world and has drawn large crowds during recent tournaments.
Her popularity has caught the attention of Sky Sports presenter Gigi Salmon, who compared the atmosphere at Eala’s matches to a major music event.
“She might already be the biggest star,” Salmon said while discussing Eala’s growing fan base.
Salmon also noted the strong energy at the young player’s matches, saying the crowd atmosphere feels similar to a Taylor Swift concert.
