Meghan Markle’s collaboration with Netflix, tied to her lifestyle brand As Ever, has officially come to an end, according to a new report.
The decision follows the conclusion of Markle’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which will not move forward with a third season on the streaming platform. An industry source told Page Six that the partnership surrounding the brand no longer aligned with the show’s future.
The source says the arrangement lost its purpose once the programme stopped progressing.
"Her show did not go on, so it did not make sense to continue the partnership," the source told the publication.
A Netflix spokesperson confirmed the change while describing the collaboration in positive terms.
"Meghan's passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life," the spokesperson noted.
The spokesperson also indicated that the brand had always been intended to operate independently over time.
"As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world."
Markle will now continue developing As Ever on her own as it enters what the company described as its next phase.
People familiar with the situation said the shift allows the brand to stand on its own. Future seasonal specials of With Love, Meghan could still appear on the platform.
Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, first signed a reported $100 million production deal with Netflix in 2020 after stepping back from senior roles within the British royal family.
Their most successful project with the platform was the 2022 documentary series Harry & Meghan, which ranked among the streamer’s most-watched releases at the time.
Some later productions have drawn less attention, including the documentary Polo and Markle’s lifestyle programme.
The couple reportedly renewed their partnership with Netflix last year on a smaller deal. Projects currently in development include adaptations of Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune and The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory.
