Miss Universe 2025 scandal: Mexico’s Fatima Bosch crowned despite controversy

The 20225 pageant season marred by scandal has finally come to its end. Despite being surrounded by controversies, Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch has been crowned the new Miss Universe in Thailand.

The recent win of Fatima Bosch is the testament of her resilience and strength as since the start of the 2025’s beauty pageant season, she faced humiliation and disrespect.

In November, a 25-year-old contestant walked out of a pageant event after her publicly disrespectful confrontation with the director of Miss Grand International, and one of the Miss Universe organizers, Nawat Itsaragrisil, over a sponsorship issue.

Nawat chided her in front of contestants and called her “dumb”. To his defiance, she stood firm and never bowed down.

Nawat has also been witnessed berating Fatima, calling her “dumbhead.

In the midst of controversies, the contestant did not lose its poise and she stated, “I came to compete with integrity, not politics.”

Her remarks fuelled solidarity among 2025 Miss Universe contestants who walked out of the pre-pageant event in support.

To make matters worse, two judges, including Omar Harfouch and Claude Makélélé, resigned from the competition on the grounds of rigging concerns and transparency.

Despite the scandal which was meant to tarnish the integrity of Miss Mexico, Fatima persevered and won the title of Miss Universe 2025 on Friday.

As per expert observations, the recent controversies have spoken volumes of cultural differences found between Thai and Mexican owners.

Miss Universe beauty pageant is founded in the US and has been running on the planet for a very long time.
