Florence Pugh gets honest about battling depression after Midsommar

Florence Pugh has made a shocking confession about dealing with severe depression after featuring in 2019’s Midsommar.

The Thunderbolts actress did not think that playing the role of "Dani" in Ari Aster’s directorial.

The 29-year-old revealed that she worked in Little Women before filming Midsommar and both the films had completely different tones.

The 2019 film pushed her into depression for approximately six months, and she could not figure out the reason why.

She unveiled, "I got back after shooting Little Women, which was such a fun experience and obviously a completely different tone from Midsommar, so I think shelved all of that.”

Pugh opened at the Louis Theroux Podcast, "And then when I got home for Christmas, I was so depressed and I was like, ‘Oh, I think that’s from Midsommar,' and I didn’t deal with it, and I probably shouldn’t do that again.”

The role Florence played in Aster’s movie was in “a horrible state in her life and the actress had never seen that level of grief or mental health in the way that was being asked of me on the page.”

Pugh starrer Midsommar also featured Jack Reynor, Björn Andrésen, Will Poulter, Isabelle Grill and William Jackson Harper.
