Royal family delights kpop fans with unexpected move

King Charles had a busy Tuesday afternoon at Windsor Castle as he gave out special honours during an investiture ceremony.

One of the most notable and much-anticipate honour had been presented to David Beckham, who received his knighthood for his services to sport and to charity. This was a milestone moment for the former football player, who was joined by his wife Victoria Beckham and his parents.

Moreover, three out of his four children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, had also joined him to celebrate the new title for their father: ‘Sir’.

While the key moment was taking place, there was special detail that many may have missed, a nod to fans of the hit Netflix movie, K-Pop Demon Hunters. A rendition of the song Golden was being played while David was presented.

It seems that the royals have not only given their verdict over the honours given out to outstanding brits, but to also declared their most favoured song: Golden.

The song has been smashing the music charts across the world including Billboard Global 200. Moreover, it has been the longest-leading No. 1 song from a soundtrack in over a decade on the Hot 100, and the first song by a fictional act to top the UK charts since 2009.

This is not the first time the song received a special nod from the royals. Last month, in a letter sent by Kensington Palace, the Prince and Princess of Wales revealed that that their daughter Princess Charlotte “loves” the song and it was also played during the ‘Changing of the Guards’ in July.
