Meta owned messaging platform, WhatsApp is all set to introduce a real-time translation feature to help users communicate across different languages.
The initial rollout of the translations feature will be available in six languages on Android devices and 19 languages on iPhones.
Meta said in a blog that message translations were designed to protect the privacy of your chats, noting that the translations occur on your device where WhatsApp cannot see them.
The Android users will be able to turn on automatic translation for an entire thread meaning that all incoming messages in that chat will also be translated.
The feature particularly works for personal chats, group chats, and WhatsApp channel updates.
Android users on WhatsApp have an exclusive feature to enable automatic, default translation for all future messages.
This feature is an advantage as you won’t have to manually translate every single message someone sends you if you’re on Android.
Message translations were designed to both protect the privacy of your chats and break down the language barriers, consequently fostering deeper connections between users.
